English for Kids: Words & Phon 1.0.5

WordStudio: Words, Letters and Phonics for Kids is a fun and colorful educational app which presents 6 lessons for children, with over 300 individual pages of audio visual activities to help children learn the alphabet, letters, phonics, and words. This app uses phonetic sounds to help teach words, but does not present the words in phonetic categories, but rather using the whole language approach. The idea is to help a child learn the written English language the same way they learn the spoken language: through building words piece by piece.

Great for homeschool families, Montessori toddlers, English and ESL learners, and kids of all ages. Our app includes a fun game where kids use the coins they've earned to dress an adorable cat. Lessons include:

There are a bonus Alphabet page where the child can explore words associated to the sounds of the alphabet.

Our Teaching Method: Play to Learn:

Our app falls into the "play to learn" category, with fun activities that engage the child in ACTIVE learning, with a variety of different types of learning and play methods used for each set of vocabulary words.

Our user interface was designed to be both kid and parent friendly. We've also strived to add some customization, such as turning the letter hints ON and OFF for the scrambled words.

Encouraging Success through Coin Scoring System:

We found that our kids responded really well to the addition of a scoring system that rewards the child with a coin for each correct answer, and let's them use these coins to play a colorful the Dress the Cat game.

We are a small family company (1 mom, 1 dad, 2 kids, and 2 grandmas all helping with development!) - and produced this app because our kids loved using their tablet. We wanted to create something fun and unique for them. We will be adding many enhancements to this app in the near future, and we hope to hear suggestions and feedback from users so that we can help make our app the best it can be.
